The guiding principles of conduct, procedure and process.
1. To be eligible for membership in the New Brunswick Youth Council, individuals must have a genuine interest in participating in youth-led community initiatives.
2. Youth can apply to join the council by completing an application form provided by the current council members or organizers. The application should include personal information, relevant experience, and a statement of interest.
3. The members of the Data-Analyst Council will review all applications and assist new members in finding their place within the council. They will select members based on their commitment to the council's mission and values, as well as their potential to contribute positively to the group. It is not the council's intention to reject applications unless there is a valid reason.
4. Membership in the New Brunswick Youth Council is for a term of one year, but if members wish to end their tenure before the next term, the council must be given a two-week notice. When a term ends, members can choose to continue contributing to the council.
1. All council members are expected to attend council meetings and events unless they have a reasonable excuse. Members are allowed up to three unexcused absences per year. If this expectation is not met, a warning and a discussion with council officials will be initiated. The member will have to make up for the missed meetings. If these interventions are unsuccessful, the council may consider the possibility of expulsion.
2. Members are required to treat one another with respect, courtesy, and fairness at all times. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
3. Members should respect other’s confidentiality during discussions held during council meetings.
4. Members are encouraged to actively participate in council initiatives and events. This may include leading projects, volunteering, and contributing to discussions.
5. When representing the New Brunswick Youth council online or through social media, members must adhere to responsible and respectful conduct.
1. The council will have two co-lead positions to oversee and coordinate the council's activities. These positions will be filled through an annual election. Co-lead elections are only for members that have been in the council for over six months.
2. Members interested in running for co-lead positions must announce their candidacy at least two weeks before the election. They will need to provide a statement of their goals and qualifications.
3. Council members will vote in a private election to select the co-leads. The candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected as co-leads. In the event of a tie, a runoff election may be held.
4. Coleader positions are for a one-year term, renewable for a maximum of three consecutive terms. If a coleader position is not adequately fulfilled, an intervention mandate will be put into effect to address the situation. A minimum of three objections will be required for an intervention to occur.
5. Outgoing co-leads will work with the newly elected co-leads to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and knowledge.
6. Co-leads will be responsible for overseeing council activities, coordinating meetings, and representing the council to external organizations.
1. Council members are expected to show dedication to the goals and activities of the council. This commitment includes actively participating in council projects, attending meetings, and contributing to the council's success.
2. Members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to support community initiatives and events organized by the council.
3. Members are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the council's values. This includes adhering to agreed-upon deadlines, maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude, and striving for excellence in all council-related activities.
4. Council members are encouraged to work together in a spirit of cooperation and mutual support. Effective teamwork is crucial to the success of the council's initiatives and projects.
5. Members are expected to continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth. The council aims to be a place of learning and development, and members are encouraged to engage in self-improvement and skill-building.
By becoming a member of the New Brunswick Youth Council, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions and actively contribute to the council's mission and values. Non-compliance with these terms and conditions may lead to a review of your position within the council and even expulsion. These terms and conditions are subject to revision and modification as necessary.
