The New Brunswick Youth Council recently held a consultation with MyHealthNB to expand the services provided to youth. MyHealthNB displayed options to address concerns relating to age, access to personal information, parental use of youth information, the technical challenges that would occur both on technological and legal aspects.

Consultation with IYS, regarding the need for branding, per the work of M5, an approved marketing company. It reflects the Council's want to properly represent efforts intended for support as best it can, and not leave unintended consequences that might undermine or diminish credibility.

Our council members teamed up with Mark Nicholson to provide youth informative material, that will expand and share mental health related services and resources in New Brunswick. They helped guide and assess approaches to best align with existing curriculums.

The New Brunswick Youth Council created a report to guide IYS (Integrated Youth Services) towards a youth-focused environment, one that would display IYS' welcoming intent to care, and resonate with the youth who require their supports.

The council participated in a province wide engagement of teachers and selected youth to guide future works on NB`s anglophone curriculum.

The New Brunswick Youth Council came together to discuss their 'next steps' , from making more connections with minority groups and establishing ties with governmental departments, to increasing member representation and sharing of the knowledgebase.

Youth were invited to express their concerns and lived experiences of mental health services within the province of New Brunswick, the discussions held were then utilized in junction with an explanation of the Stepped Care model.

Co-developed by the NBYAC and the Department of Health, it defines a standard for meaningful youth-adult partnerships in New Brunswick. It serves as an accountability framework, drawing a clear line between performative tokenism and the authentic integration of youth perspective into provincial policy. Stakeholders pledge to uphold engagement that is ethical, impactful, and results-oriented.

The New Brunswick Youth Advisory Council crafted a report for the NB Department of Health to guide the construction of the Youth Provincial Treatment Center. This effort reflects the council's dedication to tailoring the facility to the unique needs of the youth it will serve, contributing to the well-being of young individuals in the province.

The New Brunswick Youth Advisory Council penned an impactful opinion letter to the government, expressing concerns about proposed changes to Policy 713 in schools. The letter highlighted the potential reduction of rights within an already marginalized community, emphasizing the council's commitment to advocate for equitable and inclusive policies.
